Building Community Through Play and Health Education. In partnership with Maruku Secondary School, we’re unveiling the region’s first FIFA regulation outdoor basketball court in July 2025—designed to promote youth fitness, teamwork, and healthy living.

To celebrate, we’re hosting a 4-day sports and health camp for students, coached by volunteers, educators, and medical professionals. Students are already preparing with online videos and drills created by AHEAD volunteers.

We’re still seeking:

  • Funding for additional sports gear.
  • Medical and dental professionals to lead health screenings.
  • Volunteers to support camp activities and educational workshops.

Introducing 2 of our coaches for the Maruku Secondary School Basketball and Soccer Camp
A dynamic basketball coach from Guinea/Conakry with international experience at both the youth and senior levels. Currently serving at NBA Academy Africa, he has contributed to player development across the continent. KASSÉ was recently assistant coach for Guinea’s senior national team during the Afrobasket qualifiers in Libya, and in 2024, served as assistant coach for the U17 national team at the FIBA World Cup in Turkey. His coaching résumé includes a 2023 stint with Dynastie Basketball in Canada and a pivotal role in the 2019 U16 Afrobasket in Praia. His track record reflects a strong commitment to talent development and international competition readiness.
With a lifelong passion for soccer, I have played competitively since the age of four and continue to play at the amateur level as an adult. I spent eight years coaching youth teams with the Clearwater Chargers Soccer Club, where I focused on developing technical skills, teamwork, and a love of the game in young athletes. In addition to my soccer background, I bring a strong foundation in education and child development. For the past two years, I’ve worked as an early childhood data analyst at Bank Street College, combining research and policy to support young learners and educators. My experience bridges athletic coaching and early education, reflecting a commitment to youth development on and off the field.
